Nice one Colin
, are you speaking from personal experience?
I only used to do one coin at a time! But ... I used to throw it in at one end of Coventry's 50 metre pool, walk to the other end, dive in and swim the 50 metres underwater to get it. My aim was to collect the coin, turn round and swim back to the other end before resurfacing. I think the furthest I got was about 75 metres. I reckon I could have done it with enough training - that was done when I was an untrained 10 year old!
I haven't been swimming for about 15 years. My nearest pool is in Todmorden about 5.5 miles away, but one is being built in Mytholmroyd, only about 2 miles from where I live. When that has been completed, I will see when they have adult-only sessions and start going to them. The walk there and back and an hour of swimming would make up a good morning/evening of exercise. (I got too self-conscious to swim in public when I got fat, but I will be slim again by the time that the pool has been completed. Only the stretch marks to worry about then!
