Tired now. Been a lovely day. We didn't get up until 10ish, thanks to our late night last night, but it was so nice and sunny that we decided we must go out. We'd got bread and cheese and olive pate we bought at the Farmer's Market yesterday, so we made up a picnic, got in the car and went. We only decided on North Wales when we got to the critical motorway junction. First stop was at Bangor, where we had a walk down the pier to have our lunch in a convenient little shelter:
Lovely views of the mountains.
Then back in the car to drive into the mountains:
We went for a short hike part way up the side of Tryfan:
And then onto Betws-y-Coed, where we visited the little railway museum and saw a very impressive 1/4 scale model.
And then had a

and cake, and spotted a bike loaded ready to deliver Potsy's dinner:
Then it was home, or rather parking the car on the drive at 7.30, and hoofing straight round to the neighbour we'd been supposed to have dinner with at 6...

We were a bit late, but got a good plate full of leftover roast chicken, and pudding, which was only just being baked anyway.
Glorious weather, a really lovely day out. Nice to play truant, after so many weekends working hard on stuff in the house...
