Swedish music rocks!

Now, my tastes aren't as alternative as they once were, I like most things with a good rhythm, some catchy guitar hooks, and distinctive vocals.
With that in mind, here's a few Swedish gems that you may or may not know.

Starting with an epic:
Kent - 747. This song needs to be listened to from start to finish. Rinse and repeat.


Kent - Blåjeans. A bit more immediate than '747'. Very early-Radiohead.


The Lost Patrol - Alright. Catchy, feel-good, cool video. What more do you want in a pop song?


Sahara Hotnights - Hot Night Crash. A proper girl-band with tunes. Loads of them. Whodathunkit.


The Ark - The Worrying Kind. Shockingly this song only came 18th at Eurovision 2007.

Randy - Razorblade. Punk rock with a big slice of pop thrown in. Most overlooked band of all time. Fact.


The Peepshows - Count Me Out. Another slice of pop punk. It's shocking that The Hives made it and these guys never.

Not a great fan of the band but i was in a music video by Caesars (or Caesars Palace as they were known then). Pretty poor claim to fame as im only in the background walking through a shot but my ex had a slightly more memorable role that i didnt know anything about until i watched the completed video

That's Norway. Sweden is mainly known for impeccably crafted power pop and rock. Here's two of my favourite (and very different) Swedish bands:

Actually, while Norway is indeed famous for their black metal, Sweden aren't too shabby either. Melodeath was essentially invented in Gothenburg.
