Overall entertaining race with only six man teams, no one exerting to much control, although it was hard to see why Cannondale bothered turning up. If Sagan can hang on the likes of Kwaremont and Poggio with top WT peloton Leith Hill should not have been too difficult. Maybe it was a crazy change of tempo third time up, but the producer chose to concentrate only on Brahmeer's lone attempt and the front group when there was such mayhem going on behind. Great ride by Offredo, shame it wasn't Millar or Baur with him.

Err SAGAN ??
He means from FDJ, in response to my jibe at Noodle's fanboi affection for the under-performing clover boys:smile:

I wasn't sure if this event was a bit of a gimmick, but lots of pro teams attending, apparently...

Anyone going spectating - any tips for where to spectate? Was going to go to Leith Hill just because it's used 3 times but I'll be in the car & it looks as though parking's going to be a pig...
We were going to take a train to Dorking and walk up Leith Hill but we were enjoying the start so much as non locals it'd been too much of a rush and we just meanderred (via the pub) to the end

I really hope this grows in stature in the coming years. I have a misty-eyed vision of the UK eventually hosting an event to rival the importance in the cycling calendar of the Spring Classics...

BTW, I should give some big props to Peter Hawkins from IG-Sigma Sport who, on his first race back from breaking his collar bone while leading the Irish RAS earlier this year, finished in the first group along with some very big names.

Very good win for Demare, FDJ were the only team that looked like they wanted to get into everything today.

"Zey come over 'ere and win our races, so we go over zere and win zeirs."

Good finish by FdJ. Stylish celebration by Demare too.

I thought Argos were looking likely to take it until they got on the wrong side of the road.

Hill Wimp

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
I know someone on here will know but who was the young lad in black ( and i mean he did look quite young ) that managed to stay with the front group for a long way and where did he finish ? He was doing really well in my very amateur opinion.
