I was hoping someone could give me some advice on supplements that may improve my performance and recovery.

As your aerobic fitness improves, so will your performance and your recovery....

well apart from fitting an engine to the bike , or a tow rope , (let your super fit mates take the strain)
you got put the pedaling in, if the weathers bad get on a turbo trainer, try and pedal every day even if its only for an hour. - theres no pain free solution. sweat, blood and gritted teeth.
eat well but if you need to lose weight (which will make it easier) cut down meal sizes, if you exercise just before meals you will feel less hungry. don't eat between meals.
its all basic stuff. -
make sure you take a few days off just before the event so you go in nice and fresh , 75miles - you can do it no problem - and just think of victory pint at the end.

"just putting the miles in" is only half the story and recovery is as important if you want to improve performance, after all isn't this the main reason people take steroids? Your body will be depleted after strenuous exercise as you will have used up your stores of energy and you should try to replace this shortly afterwards (I am keeping this simple) so that your body can benefit from the exercise. You also need to have plenty of sleep but this has a catch too as over training will make sleep harder.
