Has been said,but time in the saddle,or if the weather is bad,try the leg press machines in the local gym.
I was hoping someone could give me some advice on supplements that may improve my performance and recovery.

I dont know that,it helps keep my leg strength up,& any form of exercise will help improve the op's fitness level.Which won't help. But you knew that.

Strengthens the muscles in the knee,or so my Doc says,& he is supposed to know.so how does pushing weights help that?

So weak muscles are what we all need?I knew I was going wrong somewhere.that's fine - so you're pushing weights on medical advice. But that doesn't make it of general benefit to everyone who cycles.
