Stop making it more difficult than it needs to be. Two wheelsets and two identical cassettes run just fine (I actually ran 11-25 and 11-28) on the same chain.

Keep everything clean and well lubed.

Even simpler, just get another bike or two for when you want a change ;)

From previous threads, I thought the OP was getting a CX bike for commuting and keeping the a genesis for best.

That's fine if you have 2 identical cassettes with the same wear and they continue to wear evenly.

Yeah, I've read this is bad news for the cassette and chainrings if the wear isn't even. And I can't see me using each cassette for exactly the same mileage, so don't see how I could keep wear even.

I was going to get a second hand CX for the dirty work. I've decided to go for a high-end carbon or Titanium CX instead, which means no panniers, a more OCD care regime and lots more time saving up til I can afford it!
So realistically that's going to be 12-18months down the line at best. So in the meantime I'm looking at getting a second wheelset for the Eq10 to give me more options and spread the wear.
Cheers.

Finding it tricky to work out which wheelsets will work with discs from the websites - any recommendations of good, light disc-brake wheelsets (ideally that would work with a 10 speed Tiagra without faffing with spacers) most welcome

Talk to a wheel builder like dcr wheels and have them made just as you want them.

Or saving the money spent on lighter wheels and buying a better bike to begin with.
Better bike won't come with wheels of any major difference to current bike, unless considerably more money than a wheel upgrade is spent!
