That's a shame, I am pretty much all ready, I just need a phone charge bank and to decide my outfit hehe :-)
You'll have a great time. It's a ride that deserves to be taken in a relaxed way to really enjoy it.

For different reasons I've now ridden the A2070 from Lydd to Ashford twice on my own this year, and so help me, it's a boring road. I would have needed to do it again probably earlier than on the August ride to make the times work.

If you fancy doing just Ashford to Ashford or Ashford to Rye, I could pick you up at Welling, park at Ashford and then meet up again at Ashford (I doubt I'll manage the full round trip so I'll take the train back to Ashford). It's a small car so one wheel each will have to come off for the journey and, given the length of your legs, your seat post might have to be lowered to fit in the car.

I truly appreciate the offer but it's the Ashford to Rye bit I can't do. I left last time about 2ish and time trialled into Ashford.

I really, really appreciate the offer though

No problem, Martin. I drove down last time and you're pretty much on my route there if I go by car. I do fancy the beer and train variation though. Purely for the sake of variation, you understand.

OK so this is the role call for this Saturday. Can you just let me know if you are NOT coming OR if you are and your name is not on the list as I don't want to leave without you. We leave at 10am from the International departure lounge at Ashford International Station. There are toilets and a cafe there and you can bring your bikes inside.

If you are driving down DON'T park in the Eurostar car park it's silly money, £10 I believe. Park in the Southeastern Car park near the front of the station as it'stands only £4. Once parked exit the car park and turn left towards the traffic lights, left over the railway then left again onto the A2042. A short way down on the left is a footpath through the bushes down to the departures but if you miss it go down to the first roundabout take the first exit to another roundabout and take the first again into Newtown Road. This leads up to the departures. It's a 5 minute ride from the car park.
The red dot marks the car park, and the departure entrance is roughly where "Rd" is in Newton Road and the footpath is marked as a connecting road.

If I don't hear from you I will assume you are coming.
