Please can I ask how this helps apply torque to the pedal axle? I ignorantly can't see the point. Why do you want one @Big John ? For what function?

The 'beast', holds on the crank arm between those soft wheels so that you have the ability to hold the crank while you move the pedal spanner.

The 'beast' is expensive at £120, but I've shown above ^^^ how to make one like I did, for not much more than a Pavarotti. :laugh:

The right tool makes a huge difference. The X tools one looked robust but it's obviously made with a relatively soft metal. I felt a lot of give when putting pressure on.

Absolutely no give with the park tools spanner, and a nice lever length.

The threads were a bit mucky!

The do look like they have never seen any lithium grease.

you're hands could do with a bit of hand-cream too....

That gloves actually on the wrong way round. I've got two left ones :laugh: I get them on site and always lose the right hand ones because I take them off for writing notes.

I've treated myself to some fenwicks assebly grease. I'll really be happy with myself in 5 years.

Glad you got there.

I destroyed a Jobsworth pedal spanner in the same way before investing in the Park one.
