Here's a couple of Great Hornbills in Penge by Aspire.

And on the wall opposite is a Louis Masai banana. He normally does endangered animals, but this features the banana, which may become extinct for a 2nd time, due to a fungal disease called 'Tropical Race 4'. More info here, I found this a good read. https://edition.cnn.com/2015/07/22/africa/banana-panama-disease/index.html

Seeing the Louis Masai reminded me of @deptfordmarmoset's failed otter spotting attempt, from....
Yes, you're entirely right - on the opposite was the same signature, though I misread it as Mapat. I'll look for an otter on the walls rather than in the river Ravensbourne....

@deptfordmarmoset I've got this one, from back on page 20^_^. Library pictures as its so small I can't find it:laugh:.

Also remember your recent otter text spot in Lewisham. It seems there was a patchwork otter right next to that text, the tail end of which you can see here on a google streetview image from May 2018. I'm assuming you couldn't have missed that^_^, so weirdly it seems that particular otter became extinct between May and now, and only the text remains.

I decided to check it out, and I can confirm that less than 10 feet away from this text @deptfordmarmoset photgraphed.....

....is a mahoosive patchwork otter just to the left, seen here:

And not only that, but there's another jumbo sized one on the wall opposite^_^.....I honestly don't know how you managed to miss them, lets blame the low winter sun^_^.

Happy New Year street art fans!

2018 was a our first full year. Since this thread started, I think our little corner of the internet has amassed one of the greatest collection of street art around. Many of these may now be extinct, but we have saved them for eternity here. @Moderators is it possible using the search function, or is there any moderator features, that are able to tell me how many images we have posted in this thread, without having to go through and count them all manually? I'd love to know how many we have in total. I think it must be over 2000 now.
Happy New Year to you too.
I have reported your question because I am not sure of the answer but we will find out. It is an amazing collection that's for sure.
I'm only just catching up with this thread.
(Unfortunately tags for the mods get lost in the number of notifications from the whole forum whereas a report or contact us message are more easily dealt with.)

Thanks @Katherine:okay:. No hurry, I just thought it useful to give an update at the end of each year of how many we have in the ever expanding gallery^_^

I came across the following article which is great. https://www.theguardian.com/cities/...mosaic-maker-who-turns-potholes-into-pictures
I think its a stretch to class that as vandalism, he's providing free artworks and a public service:notworthy:. If Jim Bachor ever comes to London and needs a pothole scout, I will gladly volunteer, we could keep him in work for the rest of his life^_^

His works are certainly much better than the only other pothole based 'art' I've seen before. A few years ago Manchester based Wanksy got into the news for painting penises around large potholes in the road as a way of getting the Council to repair them faster. The Council denied they were repaired faster, but they would wouldn't they^_^.

I admire the use of art to inspire action, keep those hands where we can see them, and keep them busy ^_^

And tucked away in Dereham Place I came across this scene by Tom Lewis and Carl Stimpson.

I did see others, on our drive in, but most were in very awkward places to pull up

@Richard A Thackeray I like the Gene Wilder one:okay:

@deptfordmarmoset I like that root one too, it reminds me of one of the pics in this link I saw recently of a Japanese artist making sculptures from salt, and my favourite one of his looks like an epic roots system, the 2nd pic in this link: https://twistedsifter.com/2012/04/salt-sculptures-by-motoi-yamamoto/

And thanks @steveindenmark, that's only our second post from Denmark:okay:. I recently saw there was a good fish in Helsingor made from recycled plastic: http://www.thiscityknows.com/street-art-from-helsingor-denmark/

And in a similar vein, my friend Liviu and his girlfriend Nicoletta were in Dublin recently, and photographed this red squirrel on the side of a pub that was also made from recycled waste materials. I wish my local bin men were this creative^_^

And I saw this today, about 8 feet off the ground in a side street off Brick Lane. It was so high I could not see the reflection, but when I got home was pleased to see I snapped the camera reflection perfectly^_^

Maybe the artist Loretto has been reading David Icke^_^.

And here's another Loretto one that made me laugh:laugh:

Well today is the day of the big Brexit decision, all eyes are on the news.....
wzSHXdG.jpg

That's a famous set of eyes, instantly recognisable, they have to belong to Audrey Hepburn.

I've seen plenty of anti-Brexit art in recent months, here's just 2 recent ones

I think its fair to say the artist community are very much anti-Brexit, I've still not seen a single pro-Brexit piece since this mess all began. I think our politicians have covered themselves more in custard than glory.

Maybe only Jeebus can save us now.....
wOyiq94.jpg

Whatever the final result, its so divisive I'm sure we'll see some trouble.

I did want to end with some fluffy bunnies or something totally unrelated to Brexit, but bunny street art eluded me today, so here's a parrot instead^_^
