Sorry I didn't do an update as promised yesterday, I was on a 100 mile cycle adventure to see a tree instead.

@deptfordmarmoset at the risk of sounding like the nerdiest of street art nerds, *dons detective hat* I think I recognise the font that otter text is written in, its the same font that one of our regulars uses if he uses any text to accompany his art works, sheesh doesn't that sound tragic:laugh:
Yes, you're entirely right - on the opposite was the same signature, though I misread it as Mapat. I'll look for an otter on the walls rather than in the river Ravensbourne....

A bit windy today but still amazingly warm for mid October in Blighty. Its still summery enough for water melon, Woskerski obliges.

And on the wall my bike is leaning against in the above pic is this next one. I don't know the artist, but I'm sure its the same person who did the children picking over a broken robot I got in Leake St tunnel from page 53.

Great stuff @Dave 123 thanks, good to see.

I got the first image from that link^_^, when I did a dash around Digbeth on my way to Wales by train, and had half an hour to kill while changing from New St to Moor St stations. That and a few other images are back on the top of page 18.

Following my recent trip to Croydon I looked up the artist B.K.Foxx who did the huge image of the blond girl with her head in her hands from the last page. She's American but seems to travel the world doing art works, and there are some great ones on this attached link: https://www.graffitistreet.com/interview-with-bk-foxx-iwd-special/
The one with the teddy bears is one of my favourites, but the girl feeding the wolves at the end of this link is amazing, and I think one of the biggest I've ever seen. Very impressive to do that in less than a week, even if she needed the 17 hours of daily daylight to finish it on time.

I went on a short street art ride with my niece yesterday: https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/your-ride-today.173254/post-5410977

I had seen most of them before, but towards the end of the ride we came across a new Roa piece, in St James Path, Walthamstow.

And the face-palming chimp from the last page....

....now has some company, and so reveals the full work to be the 3 wise monkeys, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

Across the pond a case has just been settled that's been rumbling on all year, and is similar to the one I mentioned recently featuring Boohoo using, or rather stealing, artists work for advertising campaigns without, permission, credit or payment. This seems to be happening more and more. I've seen General Motors are also at it now, trying to deny an artist any claim to an obvious use of their work:thumbsdown:. Their execs better see sense quickly.

The following brilliant win features the clothing mega-corp H&M, who seem to be trying to commit corporate PR suicide the way they've been carrying on recently. These corporations have loads of money and they long to be associated with the perceived cool of street art. They could be using their financial muscle in a positive way, that is beneficial to all parties. But their default position is maximum money at all costs, and they'll bully and trample over anyone to get it.

So I get an extra warm feel-good glow, when one of the little guys absolutely slays a mega-corp and hold them bang to rights, and then some. The settlement in this case is epic win of the highest order.:bravo: In PR terms H&M mega-corp and all its resources have been made to look like chumps. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of next weeks H&M exec meetings when the legal and PR team are forced to commit seppuku in front of their superiors.

Revok, what a legend:notworthy: . Thanks for my favourite David v Goliath moment for ages, and for giving a perfect template to any mega-corp on how they could and should be working with, and benefiting from, street artists and their work.

@dickyknees thanks, that's only the second time we've had Argentina featured. I thought I recognised the footballer, its local lad and former West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, who has returned to play for his boy hood club, Boca Juniors. Apparently Tevez used to live in the building his mural is on.

I've just discovered both the murals featured by @dickyknees are by Argentinian artist Martin Ron. Here's a short article about the artwork with the dancers, called 'Tango and Rock'. http://streetartunitedstates.com/martin-ron-paints-second-mural-in-la-boca-in-buenos-aires/

I didn't realise it until today but I've featured 2 Martin Ron's in this thread. He did this break-dancer in Hanbury St back in 2013 from back on page 27, so its one of the oldest still surviving ones I've featured.
O8xDkw0.jpg

And Martin also did the break-dancing Jesus I got on my trip to Bristol back on page 19
XDpvmt1.jpg

He seems to have works all over the world, and back on the football theme again, he did this great one in Moscow this year for the World Cup. http://streetartunitedstates.com/martin-ron-paints-a-mural-in-moscow-for-the-world-cup/

Good work @deptfordmarmoset yes they are all new:okay:. I really like the one with the swirling houses/sheds.

I found a couple more by Otto Schade who is another South American, from Chile. These two next to each other on Bateman Row.

Those are opposite a Nike store, which had a new addition on the wall today that I'm sure is going to be removed tomorrow morning by some Nike staff. Another Jesus, well it is Sunday, 'crucified' on the Nike swoosh.

@deptfordmarmoset well I'm sure you knew I had to go and look^_^.

The first bit shows a bird by Roa, its immediately next to the break-dancing figure I posted above, which is just out of shot to the left, what are the chances?
The tribal figure in the same shot is by Dale Grimshaw, and is/was on the building at the corner of Hanbury St and Brick Lane.

That programme has not been filmed recently as that Dale Grimshaw has been painted over at least 4 or 5 times since then. And there's a bit of a continuity error on the clip afterwards, he's walking up Brick Lane from south to north, suddenly it cuts to the 'buy s##t' billboard that's by Village Underground on Great Eastern St, and then a second later he's back in Brick Lane again. Busted. How tragic I know all this, I need to stay in more......

This is all a bit commercial as it coincides with the launch of Bohemian Rhapsody the film that's released this week, but its fun, and it features neon.

Carnaby Street was fitted out yesterday with neon signs containing some of the lyrics from the song, the UK's 3rd best selling single of all time, which was accompanied by a groundbreaking music video 7 years before the launch of MTV.

I imagine someone from the local Council objected to neon signs with 'Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead' and 'Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me' and 'so you think you can stone me and spit in my eye', so we've been presented with a sanitised Cbeebies version, and I'll fill in the gaps so we can get it all to flow as it should.

Feel free to grab a wooden spoon from the kitchen and get changed into some lycra cycling bibs and sing along. Are you ready? Here we go....

And there has also been a massive mural done on the side of the Paragon Building, one of the student campuses for the University of West London, so I took the trip over to Brentford to get it. It's so big I had to photograph it from a few streets away.

Freddie Mercury got a diploma from Ealing College, now part of UWL, more info here: https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/arti...-street-art-promote-bohemian-rhapsody/1496200
