I've been there (on the Ditchling Devil Audax I think) but I've forgotten exactly where it is. Surrey hills, south of Guildford. Or at least, there is a very similar looking this way/that way sign that I've seen. This might be a different one.

You're thinking of Blackheath, part-way between Wonersh and Albury. I got this pic in June, clearly not the sign in @classic33's pic.
