I like the 2010 finish better - camera alongside the final bit, and someone in red/pink (Thor?) gradually overtaking someone. Then in the background there is just this white blur going past as if the others are sitting still!
It's also worth remembering that when you are out of the saddle you are more eye-catching to other road users (due to both lateral movement and an increased profile). I like getting out of the saddle for this reason when commuting.
I don't stand when going up hill apart from very very short sections some times, however I love standing going downhill on certain hills ... wind in your hair etc. But one of the times that I think standing is very useful is at junctions - especially very parked up ones where standing gives you a clearer view and also motorists a view of you too.
I went from 1000-2000 on 9spd to 2500-4000 mile chain life on 10spd by changing the way I cleaned & lubricated my chain (not using chain cleaning tools or degreasers)
