Yes I thought it was a big one too - more of a 5 bar gate than a bike to my 32" inside leg like one I had which ended up with my mates son Sam - his nickname as a kid was Sam Longlegs.

Nah it ain't that big, I'd say a 23" frame from looking at the headtube, I've got a 25" Raleigh 531 'Road Ace' now that is a big frame

This is my 'big one' for sale (where's @Fnaar when you need him): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167199577961

I tried riding it and had to sit on the crossbar.

Can't post a picture of the Road Ace but that has a 2" bigger frame and I've only just got 'Standover Height' on that mind I do wear 34" inside leg jeans and they fit nice so leg length with shoes on must be 37"

Saw this Holdsworth for £50 in Clacton - it may have sold by now as the listing is 7 weeks old but there are lots more on Facebook Marketplace

That's nice and just a nice size shame about the distance

A smallish steel Massi with 2x8 Campag integrated shifters; looks like quite the unicorn and not silly money. Potentially a good buy if it fits and you can tolerate the paint job. £250, Crawley, via FB Muppetplace.

A really nice looking Dandrea (?) 80/90's-ish-looking road bike in Columbus steel, looks like decent quality kit considering the chromed bits and Campag appointments. £250, Wadebridge, Muppetplace.

Raleigh road bike in Reynolds 501 and team colours with 7sp 105 groupset on DT shifters. Evidently not a high-end model from the tubing, but looks like a lot of bike for the money and they obviously thought enough of it to give it a nice internally-lugged fork. Frame is 59.5cm which the seller wrongly equates (through false comparison to modern sizing) to being XL. In reality this would probably be more like an M/L. Could be a nice base for a modest retro-modern build...? £100, Cambridge, Muppetplace.

A decidedly non-standard Raleigh Nitro MTB; wonky racks and questionable light mounting aside it looks like a nice conversion and potentially an excellent utility bike for very little money... although there doesn't seem much room left for guards around those lovely fat tyres - £40, Carlisle, muppetplace:

Next we have a lovely-looking, if somewhat battered Rudge Sports Tourist (?) for £50 in Halifax on muppetplace - as I understand it these are essentially the same as the Raleigh Sports Tourist of the same era, with a different fork and that lovely burgundy paint. I keep an idle eye out for these as I'd love one as a town-wafter; thankfully this one is a bit too far away to represent a threat to my already diminished shed space..

A lovely looking modern-ish "Reynolds 853" "Raleigh" with posh Campag groupset for £995 in Notts (muppetplace) - strong money (especially given its lack of provenence) but looks like a really nice spec and I love the aesthetic.. would be tempted by this were circumstances different.

Another burgundy Rudge - this time a ladies model with rod brakes in Sheffield for a ton. Probably optimistic given the very limited target market, but looks like a nice bike.

A really nice looking Hirame tourer for £85 in Stroud - seems like a lot of decent-quality bike for not a lot of money..

I like the hirame just too far away and unusual to see a touring frame one

What is that round thing on the down tube on the sport tourist in Wafters post I’ve seen a few of them now but don’t know what it is.
