I might have a problem with my spoon?.. I have ridden 45 klm and 72 klms so far and when I got back on the last ride I checked the seat level to see that all was well but the bubble had moved from dead center on the spirit level to the front black line, so I put my hands on either end of the saddle and rocked it and the saddle has a small amount of play, there's not any movement from the rails and seat clamps but appears to come from the rail to the saddle? I checked my other bike and there's no movement on either?
I'm going to do a 50 miler today so I will see what happens?
The one on my full suss has a bit of movement, and creaks. It's the bond where the rails enter the underside of the chassis. I'm more likely to stay seated on semi rough surfaces so I'm not at all surprised that it's going to suffer far more from the mechanical action of my not inconsiderable weight, whereas I'd be out of the seat on a hardtail, and of course there's much less repeated impact on a road bike.

Padding does not always equate to comfort. As Brooks saddles prove.
I didn't say it did, in fact I've implied the very opposite.

And you can keep your dirty Br**ks habit to yourself.

I am fussy as hell and they are comfy for 180km Ironman. In terms of lifespan, years seems to be my experience. I have plastic and leather and both seem fine

Just to say I have 4 Spoons and one Brooks, and I am looking at using a Spoon on the tourer in place of the Brooks
I've said it before and I will say it again. I don't know how they have done it at this price? It is the comfort that you would gladly pay £70-80+ for, but they are knocking them out at around £20. There seems to be a lot of snobbery around saddles and some people are damning the Spoon because it can't possibly be any good at only £20. People with more sense have discovered the truth**

**Disclaimer: Not all saddles suit all riders but the Spoon seems to be almost universally compatible apart from a couple of freaks and genetic mutations!

I have 2 Brooks and have replaced them both with Spoons.

I love the Brooks and am a big admirer of their designs and how they are made. But the Spoon is just as comfortable, lighter and its not a problem if it gets wet.

Just to add another positive voice to the Spoon fan club, I've used only spoons for years, mostly getting them for about a tenner from other CCers!

My only minor gripe with the Matte finish spoon is that it tends to pull my shorts down when I stand up to struggle up a hill. Less of a problem for me, more of a problem for the motorist behind me.

The same here. I had a couple of Spoons, a couple of Madision Flux, and one Brooks holding out on the tourer. In the end the Brooks got replaced. Felt too different from the others and tbh it's nice not to have to care about upkeep.
