Just put a spoon saddle on my bike to try out and for £20 I'm very pleased with the result.. but it seems too good to be true.
So based on about 200 miles a week what would be the life of one of these saddles.

Cheers..

Has it got any knots in? The piece of string that is.

Too many factors to guess but I have had saddles last 10+ year's.

I was thinking about getting one of them but wasn't sure if they would be ok for 60mile rides. Would you recommend them?

I've ridden a total of about 20,000 miles on the Spoons on my last two bikes, spread over five years. They don't seem to have degraded at all. I don't know how comfortable they are on rides over eighty miles though because I've never attempted one yet.

Good avatar!

I have a charge spoon on my singlespeed; before then it was on my mountain bike. I must've bought it in about 2005. It's still great after 7500+ miles on the singlespeed.

Ironically, I hope the Fabric saddle on my Cannondale falls apart ASAP, even though it's basically the same saddle. It gets uncomfy after about 25 miles.

I have fitted a spoon to every bike I have. The only one I have a had to dispose of was the one that was fitted to my bike in an accident and it tore the material on the back of the saddle.
I have done plenty of 100-200 mile rides on a spoon wihout any problems. As soon as I sat on one I knew it was the saddle for me!

Got a spoon on the Planet X and pretty happy so far, think they are now sold under the Fabric brand.

Will poss look at one of the posher Fabrics for the Helium next year as well.
