I like the idea of the comfort and small aero advantage of Cinelli spinaci bars:

which were very popular in the peleton until they were outlawed by the UCI .Yhey were considered dangerous in a bunch because it was thought it took too long to reach the brakes - although research by Cinelli found that it took no longer than if you were riding on the hoods. That's hardly surprising because at one point they represented 15% of Cinelli's business.

Anyway - my bars are quite crowded, and I have a spare pair of cross tops, which would be nice to have fitted.

It seems to me that there is no reason they wouldn't work on the end bits of the bar, but I'm posting here in case I've missed anything obvious, because I've never actually fitted the cross tops at all (eBay bargain I've never used) and I don't have any spinacis. Getting the cable from the normal lever across to the cross tops might be a bit of an ugly bodge - but it should work, shouldn't it? This would also (presumably) make them legal to use in racing again, if Cinelli are listening, my consultant fee is very reasonable

No reason why it wouldn't work, so long as the brakes are the right diameter for the Cinelli bars - but the cable routing will not be pretty - in fact it will be Fugly!

By the time you have finished, your bike will be about as aero dynamic as a double decker bus......which rather negates the advantage of the Cinelli bars!
They will still look awesome and give me more options though

Also, the drilled version might be better for cabling, but I'm not sure on the aerodynamic efficiency of all those holes ...
