A few years ago I switched from M520s to A520s because I was getting (or maybe imagining) a bit of foot burn after about 50 miles. I've not had this problem with the A520s. I think the extra support works (or maybe I'm imaging that as well but I doubt it).

Why are XTR pedals so good please? I have never used 'em. Are they also good mud shedders?

I've found touring pedals better for comfort if you are doing longer stints in the saddle (I use A520's).

Similar dilemma here regards putting something better than 520's on my bike, been looking at the xt's for around £45 but can't find anywhere with stock

Stock is in, I'll be getting some on Monday, in the mean time I'm servicing my squeaky M520's

Another A520 user checking in - think they were a good price on CRC & Wiggle. Be aware that eBay sellers often sell them without cleats, whereas they come with cleats from "regular" shops.
