Anything by The Clyde Valley Stompers particularly The Old Rugged Cross. They played frequently at Glasgow University Union and my late wife and myself were frequent attenders. They were one of her favourite groups. Fairly shows my age.

This was played by Jeremy Vine when discussing dropping your kids off at university, trouble was this was on either the Monday or Tuesday after packing our daughter off that weekend, really was a bit much As I found out sat in the van blubbing, where on earth does the time go, as in the lyrics about intending to do lots of things, yet somehow not doing them all is so true, and As for ABBA writing things like this in English, I wouldn’t know where to start in Swedish.

I have to say listening to Charles Bradley's version of Changes and his explanation of why he chose to cover this Black Sabbath song has me and his emotion in his voice is haunting.

Not a sad song, but this one always gets me simply because it was #1 in the charts exactly 29 years ago in 1991, on the day I lost someone very dear to me. And because it was at #1 for so long, it was the soundtrack to that whole summer.
