So who's going to be on here on Christmas Day?

Probably will pop by because I'm not doing much on the 25th itself, all the family stuff seems to be Boxing Day onwards.

I tried doing an alternative Christmas (i.e. ignoring it) a few years back, but it was actually rather miserable! Better luck to anyone else trying that this year.

If I had my way, I'd treat every day the same as every other day so I'd be on here on December 25th and just try and forget the whole Christmas thing. The trouble is, my family made it clear that me saying "I don't want to do Christmas any more" is equivalent to saying to them "I despise all of you and never want to see you again!" They just don't understand what I dislike about the festering festive season...

I only managed to avoid doing the family Christmas in the midlands when I had the excuse of needing to be with my (then) girlfriend and stepdaughter up here in Yorkshire, but then I had to do Christmas with her family instead, for the same reason - "Love us, love our Christmas!"

So... I might manage to get on Cycle Chat at about 21:00 on Christmas night; I will be spending the earlier part of the day eating and drinking too much, as usual !

And this isn't true? Friends you can choose but family you're stuck with. I'm not wild about mine. I don't want to spend Christmas day with them and I'm not ashamed to say it. They bore the pants off me.

My normal routine involves getting up early , I see no reason not to do it on Xmas Day, so I might pop in to say Hi , before the celebrations really get underway!

Planning to go out the bike Christmas morning, then dinner at the inlaws in the afternoon. However after the highly emotional conversation my wife and I had last night I suspect it could be my last Christmas dinner at the in-laws:ohmy::sad:

That doesn't sound good!! Misery.

I'd love to be either on the bike or on here but I shall be at the in-laws. But I know the M-in-law (who is lovely) is getting me a map of the world which I REALLY want so I'm quite excited about it.

Christmas? When is it?

Hope this helps.

I'll pop in and say hello .

My sister is having us all round on the 25th and has told me I'm stopping over that night.

Should be excellent as my neice is 8 month old and I haven't seen her for nearly two months. She's got 6 teeth now and had started clapping. She's still mostly bald as well.

I've been told I can give her breakfast as the last time I fed her they found it very entertaining.

I'll be around, as I have to work on the 25th. I am rather pissed off about this is it's the second year running that I have been "volunteered" for it. But it's just a "permamence" thing so I should be able to do sod all with a bit of luck.

Join the club! Work policy is 2 Christmas's on 1 off-errr why then is this my 4th consequitive Christmas I have worked?

Last year I worked Christmas Eve Christmas Day night shift and New Years Eve and New Years Day Night shift

This year I am am Christmas Eve Christmas Day Boxing Day and the 27th Night shift and New Years day night shift :angry::angry::smile::headshake:, my plan is to go to my sisters on the 29th and have a belated Christmas with them and then see the New Year in with my Nana. I have already made plans to look for a new Job next year. I love my job but hate the company.
