Mmmmmmmm Trek FX 7.4 .... I can't stop looking at them even though right now I'm not in the position to buy one

In fact all the Trek FX bikes look great to me, just wish I could tell the difference other than the price? And obvious things like what type of brakes are on it etc.

Oh and I see a lot with Carbon forks - is that not a good idea when your over 18st like me? :smile:_

Keep it up, @dee.jay , and you'll surprise yourself! I've cycled my whole life, but almost 6 years ago had stopped for a few years, and my cycling fitness was almost nonexistent. 40km on the flat would have me "bonking", but now I can do several times that with lots of hills.

I've now completed 77 miles in the past 3 weeks!

Did another 12 miles this afternoon up a different valley, 900ft elevation, 72 minutes riding. I was knackered at the end - but man I'm loving it. The new bike is amazing compared to the BSO. Some othe friends on another forum have completely dissed even my Claud Butler which was a bit disheartening but I still like my bike. The front chain fell off twice today - What can I do about that? I think the front derailleur on my model is a very cheap one. Will I benefit upgrading it?

OK I will go googling. I imagine this is not a difficult thing to adjust?
Thanks!

EDIT: Chap in the shop I bought it from will service it for me after I've been using it a few times.

No kiddin' had to have a nap when I got back! But can't wait to go again tomorrow :-)

Well done as previously said don't get hung up on miles before you know it you will be doing more and more not even thinking about it. It's that addictive I now try find longer routes to work while commuting so I'm on the bike longer as I enjoy it so much

I'd take it in as soon as possible. He probably didn't expect you to do quite so much so quickly - it's a good service for a shop to give the bike a tweak after you've had it a week or three and if you're finding a few glitches best to get them sorted straight away.
