Haven't cycled in years - managed 3 miles up and down a local cycle track. That's about my limit - came home exhausted but it's a good start
My first ride, last October, after several years not cycling, was to the bottom of my street and back a few times.
Now I regularly do 15 mile rides and my longer rides are 30 miles.

Keep it up!

I did 2 miles first ride, 3.2 miles 2nd ride...so figure progression is key! You're not alone.

Many use Mapmyride but i think the majority, myself included much prefer Strava.

And well done on the ride, each one you do gets better and you get the hunger for more.

Well done - it is more than the majority of people manage.

Some people find that an aim to a ride can be an incentive. Cycling the same route can be boring

Simple things like cycle to a local cafe, pub, shop or somewhere where you can treat yourself to a small reward

I did 5 miles today!! Loved it. Discovered "mapmyride" on my iPhone - how many here use it?

I will say cyclists are super friendly - all saying hello or wanting to chat. Beats the gym every day of the week!!
I use that too  great for the mile markers and to know how far you've gone the splits are great too.

Well done !
I bought my new bike a couple of weeks ago, but have had little opportunity to get out yet
My first ride was back from the LBS - about 2.5 miles with a couple of steep hills.Had to walk it up towards the top of the hills, but apart from that it felt great

You'll be in double figures within a month! Congrats on starting. As for tracking, would deffo urge you to use the Strava free app. Good luck

Weather is champion today, so a bit of studying while I wait for some deliveries, then i'm off out for another ride later. Badly need my water bottle now... (hence deliveries...)

Well done, I started in August last year after almost no riding for ages. First few rides were 5 miles at about 10mph - and knackered too!! Soon improved and at the end of May this year I did 1000+ miles in 14 consecutive days (ave 75.5m/day). (BTW I'm very late 50's)
