How will Goody's death affect your life? - Probably it won't!
What impact did she have on your life? - Possibly none!

She might not effect mine but there could be a 18-25 or even upto 30 that has been ignoring getting scanned that may change their mind now.

I think that her death as a private figure and the mother of two children is of course as sad and painful as these things always are and I wish that it had not happened to her.

That said, her absence from public life is something to be very happy about as she represented and was part of a disgusting aspect of modern British life: the cult of meaningless celebrity. It's just a shame that she wasn't removed from public life in a way less damaging to her family.

I was going to say something like this, but couldn't have put it in as good words.
Well said Andy.

I'm not a fan, but however Jade behaved/was portrayed by the media in the past I think she managed to live the last few weeks of her life with dignity and was very brave for her boys. I hope people remember her for that and not the mistakes that have gone before. I hope that waster of a husband of hers grows up now, keeps himself out of trouble and brings up her boys properly and gives them a better start in life than she obviously got.

What a real, real, real unfortunate event YET to court fame and play with it and its what everybody in the public eye does esp. those outrightly desperate for FAME do.

'Cept in this instance someone who has been the very butt of jokes has died.

Celebrites are too widely applauded in this country.

>People die every day! very much so.

>How will Goody's death affect your life? - It may influence women to be looked at for this disease.

>What impact did she have on your life? - Made good TV !

Sad.

My next door neighbour Bill died last night. He was a dear friend and a lovely guy. Jade Goody, I never knew. However I'm sure that her family and friends will miss her just as much so her loss is just as sad to someone.

No matter what I thought of the girl I wish her family God's peace and blessing today and in the coming days as they adjust to their loss.

I think it's sad, particularly poignant on Mothers Day. I'm sad in the sam way, I'm sad when I read about most deaths of people I don't know. I didn't dislike or like her, I did dislike the media interest she and others like her, epitomised. She though, took the opportunities presented to her, most of us would. The manner of her death, has reached a group of people who might not have presented themselves for smear tests, so that's good.

Whatever people think of her ... she has made a big impact on cervical screening and, with any luck, the age when it starts will be dropped.

Dying on Mother's Day at 27 years old, with 2 young kids... it is sad so RIP Jade and condolences to the family.

A tragedy for her family - a feeding frenzy for the media.

I don't get the obsession that so many seem to have with celebrity no matter how minor, kudos to her though for playing the game to the end, to maximise the cash for her kids.

I expect we will have the grotesque show of hundreds of empty headed trash mag readers throwing flowers at her hearse, Diana style.

Still, Sky News seem to be delighted with the whole thing.

Well they will be, that's what they do. It is news, however you look at it. A young woman, in the public eye, has passed away. What are they expected to do?

Apparently this morning to the exclusion of anything else happening in the world. I think the BBC got it right - the lead story, a comment from Max Clifford, a brief biography then move on to other subjects.

If the clamouring hoardes of 'Empty-headed trash mag readers' thought for a nano-second before buying the paper/magazine, and instead put that money for 1 week to charity, they could have made Jade's and COUNTLESS others last days slightly more bearable.

Not going to happen as long as the media in our country promotes bitching, backstabbing, celebrity, soap-opera, popularity contest as a 'popular' culture.

And let's not kid ourselves he's mourning the loss of Jade. He's mourning the loss of his little nest egg.

I'm not sure he's lost his nest egg - the kids will need representation, and Jade's mother has her story to sell. The media will not give up on this sad mess for a long time yet, and while that's the case, Max will be coining it in.
