Where's his form come back from? He hasn't potted a ball since he won the world championship!

It's a bit like when Joe Johnson beat Steve Davis, he's not got the consistency of the really top players has he?

Last year he was supposedly moaning about how he didn't like the Crucible and they should be moving away from there.

I don't think he'd be able to dominate someone like Trump, Higgins, O'Sullivan, or Murphy, and Selby would probably be able to wind him up.

This WC is the highest standard ever.
As already hinted, for those who sometimes dip in, the 1st session between Brecel and Ding Junhui had the feel of most incredible session of snooker ever.

The number of maximums that are made now mean a 147 is no longer anything special. I can remember the excitement when Thorburn made the first ever televised one, it rivalled winning the world championship.

He did ok against Selby in the final two years ago...

Used to be £147k for a maximum. They couldn't risk offering that now in case there were 3 or 4.

When you heard Jackson Page got two in the same World Championship qualifying match two weeks ago, the first time that's ever happened, I bet you mumbled "not another one!" each time. ;)

The pro tour standard these days is incredible compared to when Steve Davis made the first official one in 1982; Selby made the 100th one in 2013; Joe O'Connor got the 200th one last year and we now stand at 216 after Mark Allen's the other day.

IMO it's always a great feat, just like when pro darts players do 9-darters.

I remember when they'd have a prize in darts for the highest finish of the tournament. Unthinkable now that there wouldn't be multiple 170s. It's now almost more likely than not that you'll see a 9 darter in a tournament

He's beaten all the top players at one time or other, a few times he's knocked out maybe Trump and O'Sullivan in the early rounds of a tournament, but then been done by Murphy in the quarters.

When he's on top form it's hard to stop him, but as soon as he misses one of those long pots chances are that an in form opponent is going to take the frame.

He needs to win the title for top 16. Top 32 requires this win and at least one more.
Brecel certainly has a perception problem with his 'Iron Man priority'. Is it the exercise high influence?

However his new mega fitness is not harming his snooker.

He doesn't really look like an athlete it must be said, but appearances can be deceptive.
