They fit my Spesh Allez. Which comes without lugs etc.

The fit easily and are easily removed, leaving the brackets in place when they are not required.

99% sure they will, I put a set on my race bike today and it has literally no clearance.

The quick release lug system bypasses it and if there is any rub, bend the mounting tab a little.

Do you like them? I'm also looking at, my brother recommends the Crud 2's but not sure which to go for, they will stay on my Allez as that's been nominated winter bike.

Thanks in advance

@Nick Stone I had the crud racers and hated them, they were flimsy and were very prone to rubbing and swaying. I always found myself spending half my ride going slower, trying to fix the rubbing of the guards. This would become especially noticeable if you got of of the saddle / put the power down.

I switched to the Raceblade longs on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. They are much stronger, do not flex and acre easier to put on and take off.

The only criticism I have of them is that the inner part of rear guard ( near the seat tube) is short and doesn't offer the same protection as the crud racers. After a winter, to combat this, I ordered a spare rear part from crud racers and fitted it tot chat specific point. It cost c. £6 and gives me the best of both.

Hope that helps

Matt

SKS longs are the way to go. Crudracer mk2's are flimsy. The rear gives great protection as it covers all the way down to the front derailuer, and has 2 anchor points on the frame. The front rubs with any sudden moves of the cockpit. I got fed up of that and removed it.

I'm looking for guards for my sabbath, but i have no mounting points near the dropouts - what can i use and there isn't a lot of clearance either - i use 25mm tyres

Most likely the raceblade longs should work fine.

True they state up to 23mm tyres, however holding one in my hand now, I cannot see how a 25mm tyre would pose a problem. I couldn't say for certain though. Can ask about though.

The clearance on my CAAD9 with 23mm tyres was PLENTY!

IMO they are very good guards, however I have 2 complaints. The bit that sits in front of the rear wheel is not long enough to protect the chainset (which is where you can join a Crud guard with a raceblade to get the best coverage possible) and the quick release on the rear guard came loose over time and the rear guard ended up being sucked in between the wheel and frame causing a sudden decelleration when I was driving the pace on the front of a club run! However this seems to be an isolated case and the front one is still very secure. The rear was binned during that ride.

I had Crud 2s and they were okay for a year (but they needed constant adjustment), but I recently had to discard them when I noticed the marathon plus I had on the rear of my commuter had sawn through them!
