I'll be the first to say Hybrid! As I have only ever briefly been on a road bike, and am currently putting money away for one. Haven't been on a MTB in years, so can't comment.

I prefer off-road riding. Can't call it mountain biking since I live in the lowlands, but I like to ride on the dirt and I like to be out of the way of cars.
