Thanks Paul. I can never remember any of mine coming with a SIM card to begin with. I am ordering one off Amazon UK and just wanted to make sure I could use it in Denmark.

I am beginning to sound like my dad now. But I am nearly 60 ^_^

OK - nerd alert.

You need to check the specs. Different companies and regions use different frequencies, so there are different versions of the same phone for different markets.

Eg my current phone, purchased in the UK will use 4G for the Optus network in Australia, but will only connect to the Telstra network there in 3G or maybe only 2G (which has been turned off).

So you need to compare the frequencies used by the phone you are buying with the ones used by the network you are connecting to.

Edit: if you want to share the phone you are buying and the network you are planning to use it on, I am happy to check for you ... quiet evening at home

What is a SIM free phone?

SIM free phones are sold without any SIM card or network attached to them. Normally, people buy the phone and then choose a SIM only deal for their calls and data. All of our SIM free phones come unlocked, so you can choose whichever network you like – just remember that if it’s an iPhone it will lock to the first network you use it with, while Samsung Galaxy phones have to be used in the UK.

First FAQ. Seems to apply to iPhone only. I bought an iPhone 5s.

The phone I've got has two SIM card slots and is unlocked. I first used it with EE, I tried it with plusnet and it didn't work very well, the data side didn't work. Currently with Tesco which is working very well..
