Not quite a skip find but chatting to one of the regulars at the dog park today.
Got onto the subject of Raleigh Choppers.
He had a 5 speed but I never got one at all 😢
He has a mark 3 in his garage that needs some work and said I can have it for nothing 😀
Not sure what condition it’s in and likely way beyond my capabilities, also think there could be “a murder” if I acquire bike no 4 but very tempted.

Both of these were headed to the scrap metal bin, it would have been such a waste. A 1977 Panasonic made Centurion and a 1984 Bottecchia

There's a very special joy in riding around on skip find bikes , a joy that can't be bought, yours looks brill.
I have more skip bikes in the attic under lots of junk given time I will give them an airing .

I tried to get a 531 frame from the recycling centre but they said they couldn't give it to me.😢

Some places have "bike aware" employees that sell them on , a local metal recycling company near me has a guy that moves them on to someone to rebuild or move on again so they may end up back in circulation hopefully.

Busy in the garden just now but managed to inflate the tyres and free up the rusted chain.
Went a wee test drive, (just around the garden as no brakes).
😬 How on earth I managed to ride one of these as a kid is beyond me, wobbling all over the place 😮
