Have a look at the joint where the rails meet the saddle at the back . It looks like a 4 year old made it !

Funnily enough my sons pal bought a chinese implement of torture for his bike but he said it kills his @rse. Going to go round and check it out for quality workmanship might even ask to borrow it as well. I presume that is a chinese carbon seatpost as well ??

No the seat post is not Chinese, I have a Chinese post on my Boardman never had a problem with it, I find the saddles comfortable.

its one area I do worry about is bars and carbon especially buying from far east, however as most of the worlds carbon frames, bars etc are made in far east why should these be any different in terms of quality?

My sentiments too..........its the usual bike snobbery that makes people think it must be inferior

Because you (quite literally) do not know what you are getting. They are bars - and they are made of CF - but as far as I'm aware, that's all we know. I'm not aware of any R&D or QA standards that the manufacturer has subscribed to, while making these. Or any testing these have been put through.

Only an ignoramus would suggest this is about snobbery. It is not. It is about safety. More specifically, it is about provenance.

I'm not trying to be nice - I'm trying to be honest. Sorry if you are offended. The fact remains though that this is nothing to do with snobbery. I'm not interested in debating snobbery with you, but if you have any comments of safety, R&D, QA or batch testing, I'll happily get involved.
