I have been orienteering in a lot of Lincolnshire woods, some of them are quite nice, I have also been orienteering around Lincoln City, interesting with a killer hill to run up. I have done a few 25 time trials in the county all flat, but as Screenman says the Wolds can get lumpy, the bit I cycle through most (south of the bridge) across to the Trent crossing at Keadby is also a bit lumpy.
The drive across the south of the county to North Norfolk is one of the most boring journeys ever, I would not enjoy cycling that area.
You were likely at Woodhall Spa, that is about as far from the rest of Lincolnshire as you can get.
That should take about 5 minutes, what are you going to do with the rest of the day.
That festival was in the village I now live in, nothing has happened since.

Boston, a town so lovely the Pilgrims sailed thousands of miles to a practically unknown land to get away from it, is in Lincolnshire.

Cycling it is actually better than driving because you can actually ride nearer the coast (Fosdyke-Sutton Bridge is within a mile whether by the coast or direct or B-roads and bike routes) or along the sea banks or through the pretty little villages or onto the old islands (now surrounded by drained fenland), which the dull A roads don't because bypasses seem to have been designed mainly by drawing smooth curves on a map.

Surely the best thing about Lincolnshire is that it's nearly in Yorkshire?
I've been to Scunthorpe (as dreary as it sounds), Brigg (not much better), Grimsby (the eponymous film is actually a documentary), Mablethorpe (not good) and Sutton on Sea (gods waiting room). But apart from that the scenery isn't as bad as you'd expect from somewhere so unendingly flat.
Guy Martin is from there, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your outlook.
Having just checked, the cosmopolitan metropolis that is Gainsborough is just 40 miles from my front door so easily doable in a day there and back. Can't see it happening though...

All this love for Lincolnshire means I'm sold......
It's embarrassing I've never been. It's only sixty odd miles from Glossop. So I'm gonna ride it when the weather improves a bit. decent tailwind and it'll be a nice ride
The only question is do I aim for Lincoln which I'm sure is lovely, or Gainsborough which may not be quite so lovely? Maybe I could get a Lincolnshire double-header in with a stop in Gainsborough then onto Lincoln for a few beers
