Curling and Rowing.

Curling gets a lot of slagging, but it is one of these sports where there is a LOT more to it than meets the eye (rowing too in fact).

Wow.....fantastic photos.

I guess cycling is kinda my 'second sport' - it was athletics (hurdles) at school for me, and i followed athletics a lot as a kid - it was the 1984 olympics that inspired me.... And i guess i know more about athletics than any other sport.
But, stupidly, i gave that up when i left school, so cycling is the only sport i do now, apart from walking when i get the change to escape the city for a bit.
Am also a footy fan (arsenal) and played a bit at uni and after, but i'm not an avid follower. I generally know who's playing who and what's going on the premier league, but that's about it.
And yes, i'm a girlie who does know the offside rule!

Cycling was my number 1 sport when I was young. I then got into dinghy sailing and orienteering when I joined the Army. To get fit for orienteering I got more into running and ran the London Marathon a few times. Then, after a back injury I did very little sport between the age of 37 and 47. To lose weight and get healthy I got back into cycling a couple of years ago and have now become obsessional! The only other sport I do is indoor rowing on the Concept2 rower. I don't really enjoy this, but it is fantastic exercise. I am currently aiming to finish 1 million metres in a year; the season finishes at the end of April and I am some way behind.

I studied Karate / Jiu-Jitsu on and off for many years but as my recovery times from injuries increased ( with age ) I decided to hang up my gi.

No 2 Cycling
No 3 Bowls (lawn)

But as it is easier to just get out for a bike ride than load the car with all my tackle for a few days, I cannot be bothered as a rule going for a day or a night, I spend more time cycling.
