Second off - no injuries!

Righty - I did my first 25-miler today and about 2 miles from the end as I rounded a sharp bend (so fortunately going very slow) I hit what I thought was a wet patch of water and I went down in a flash.

Hole in my tights (now patched!) and small scuff on RD (now touched in). Fortunately no injuries and no major damage to bike.

Nice lady comes out of nearby house to see if I am ok.

Transpires that a bus had gone by and somehow fuel had come out of it (presume filler cap not on?) and a neighbour of hers had tried to wash it down with buckets of water!!!

Was just like hitting ice.

Was well and truly hacked off tbh.

Have regained my enthusiasm and will be back out tomorrow!

Is this a record; 2 offs in just under 3 weeks?

friggin hate diesel.
Came off on the stuff on my Van nic.. 2 weeks after I bought it.
Turning left at a junction, wasn't even going 5mph and BAM..bike went from under me.

Hope you are ok, not too achey and the bikes ok.

Cheers Ian - yup about the same speed I was going. Nothing you can do though - all the friction of wet ice on wet ice.

No aches - at the moment anyway!

With all this practice on slippy stuff you are going to be an expert in bike handling in the winter. Sorry, just trying to cheer you up. Hope you are ok and no after effects.

I might just come to a really quick halt down a steep hill thus sliding forward on my saddle and crushing my man bits - that'd get it out of the way.
