Trick: massage it a few minutes by steping on its side before fitting it, that will soften it a bit.<<<<

Yes I can fit them Ok, its just trying to prevent damage to the innertube. You can also warm them up in an oven too, but out on a ride and not the comfort of your own home with all your facilities of a good work area etc it can be a different ballgame which I am not prepared to take the risk for.

I have done it outside as well, had a leak at the root of the value steam, it wasnt that bad...
Anyway, I will be fitting a new pair of 32mm M+ to a new rim today, I will keep the time and let you know.

4hrs, 2 split tubes, still haven't complete the job yet...
I guess it is the the tyre's fault... it was very difficult to took the Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase off from the Bontrager SSR.

The explodion of the tube was loud......x2!
also after fitting the M+, the tyre doesnt seems to be ture.... (not the wheel)

6.5 hrs, 2 spited tubes, 2 explosions, 4 pairs of rubber gloves, 20 cable tides, 1 broken tyre lever..... I have done it!

One word of advice, do not fit M+ to Bontrager SSR yourself, at least not with 28-32mm tubes as they will go bang, even your tyres are 32mm...

Go for the 18-32.....they seems to be OK

Well now you can see the point of me removing them from my road bike, how long has it took 6.5 hours, and in the comfort of your own home with everything at hand.

Imagine getting that unlucky puncture a long way from home, plenty of day left, 4 hours before sunset, plenty of time to fix a puncture or insert a new tube (and you have blown 2, that means carrying more to be safe!) and still get home before dark. Maybe not so with Marathon+.

Anyway note my error of my ways, under no circumstances other than to remove them for a puncture repair or to replace them, do not take them off. There still as hard to get back on.

yes, it took me 10mins to remove them....and 20 mins to fit them with cable tides...
It is really just my wheels? my old one seems to be fine....

I use M+ on my commuter and they are an excellent tyre. 6000 miles plus and no punctures. Yes they can be a bit tight to fit when they are new but this depends on the wheel combination you are using them with. They may roll slightly slower but as a commuting tyre in my opinion cannot be bettered.

Well just fitted my new tyres (which happen to be marathon +'s!) and tubes. In total took just short of 2 hours, which I think is a respectable time for what ive heard about fitting these tyres! Although I admit once I did the first tyre it was easy, second tyre took just 15mins!

Will keep you posted on puncture protection

Have just re-fitted my M+ after experimenting with Conti gatorskins took about 25mins for the pair(must get easier once they've been used)
Adds about 1kg to the weight of bike which don't really matter when I'm 20kg overweight anyway:blush: and maybe 1mph slower overall but worth it for the p protection 1000+ miles not 1 yet,200 miles with the conti's 1 incident.

Well after such a good run with my Marathons, I have now got my second puncture in three weeks with them. This time I found the cause, still embeded in the tyre, a tiny piece of wire, similar to what you would find in a tie wrap. How it got through the centre of the tyre at the thickest part beats me.

Still not learnt my lesson of carrying a repair kit and had to walk home.
