Unless of course they are stainless bolts which are non-magnetic, or not very magnetic at any rate

Well, they are weakly magnetic. I stuck one to a small neodymium magnet, and was able to remove it without excessive force. I guess that makes them steel enough for me.

The bolt might be a couple of mm proud inside the disc hub attachment, but if it does corrode, I will try and bear that in mind and clean and oil it upon removal, but I am going to give these bolts a shot.

Thanks everyone for the bolt lessons.

I couldn't sell anything red back then and couldn't keep up with red bits and bobs, especially hubs and nipples.

 Me and my mate always joke about how you can spot a mid 90's rider with how much they embrace anodised and colour coded everything

Ive never ever ever bought coloured fastners for my motorcycles or bikes..never:secret::giggle:

They are starting to make an appearance on this bike but trying to resist going overboard. Seat clamp, grip clamps, headset, dust caps and cable ferruls but thats about my limit these days
