Well 64 miles today and my ass was fine but now everything else hurts !
Hands were constantly numb and had neck ache , very odd.

+1 to the recommends, I did not personally get along with the Charge Spoon, but very many people like them a lot. My favourite saddle is the Boardman, basically a shameless copy of a much more expensive saddle..

Me too orginally then all of a sudden it became a bit uncomfy, i might swap back to the baordman clones tbh i got on with them for years then 2 weeks off the bike due to illness and i felt i could feel my sitbones a lot, might be i rushed into changing rather than letting my rear get used to riding again.

Could be overstretching to the bars?

I'm preaching a little here but I believe that there shouldn't be any pressure pains from cycling and if there is then it's down to set up. A look at the setup might be in order, be that looking yourself or getting someone else to.

Indeed i had a play around and checked the rest of my set up and i reckon the old saddle allowed me to slide forward away from my optimal saddle set back as it was a flat saddle and the spoon holds you in place.I probably need to get a 90 mm stem as the current one does seem to me that i am resting my hands on the hoods my hands seem to be a little short.

Maybe not the same for the blokes as for the girlies... but one thing I find help is standing on the pedals now and then (even if not going up a hill) - gives the bum a bit of a rest from being on the saddle all the time.

I use the Spesh Romin Expert - as comfy as the spoon on the sit bone - but no numbness at the front end(if you get my drift) over distance. This used to be a problem for me with the spoon.

If the saddle is fine for 20 miles then it could be that it's probably fine for you.

It sounds like it could possibly be one or more of many issues, but might be down to fatigue.

The more tired you get the less you support yourself via the legs, and the more pressure you put on the saddle when you start easy pedalling - which is when the discomfort starts.

Also definitely, if you're reaching then you can slide forward and put too much pressure on the (ahem) no-mans-land rather than the sit-bones - so it depends where precisely you're experiencing discomfort.

Before you change the stem though make sure your saddle rail position is correct first as it may be that sliding the saddle slightly forwards may help.

YouTube is your friend for simple setup instructions.

Brookes B17 standard does it for me on longer distances. After suffering on a variety of saddles the Brookes was amazing from day 1 has improved as it has moulded itself to my rear.

On long audax rides you see allsorts of bikes including lots of roubaixs and a big percentage of them use Brookes . The longer the Audax ride the more Brookes saddles you see.

Brooks B17 Standard was my choice too ....until I went bent.

I changed from the Charge Spoon on my best bike (which i use for longer rides) as I got numb nuts at anything over 25 miles, I purchased a Specialized BG Romin Evo Expert and so far it's not good. No numbness but my sit bones hurt like hell after 20 miles. Sticking with it for now as it might take a while to break it / myself in.

The Spoon is now on my commuter as I'm only in the saddle for max of 10 miles depending on the route i take to and from work

Had the same initial experience and thought "What have I done". It beds in very nicely after about 1000km's

+1 re setup, I got a new bike and though I'd had the seat at the right height, then after about a week of commuting I had the most painful/bruised gooch and numb hands, i've now dropped the seat around 10mm and leveled it, problem resolved. (Although a shorter stem still might be required) but my seating issue all but gone.
Seat: Selle Italia
Shorts: DHB padded and out of them my windslam robax aeron are by far the best with the bog standard DHB shorts giving me numb nuts...which is a weird feeling
