I hate artificial sweeteners too. I suspect they are as bad if not worse for our health than sugar.

Dreadful, horrible, weird, often man made chemicals.
Every bit as bad as vapes.

Wait until the truth about non stick costings gets some air.

Just my opinion.

Ditto. I am trying to avoid as much chemicals as possible but you just can’t avoid everything. I use stainless steel pans now and my body wash, shampoo and deodorant are all free of nasty chemicals too.

Fair point - I'm also in the anti-Aspartame camp!

Tesco Diet Cola doesn;t use aspartame
uses something else that is probably pretty much the same but gets less publicity

but that is what I get and poison the grand kids with give the grand kids

I just think the full cola stuff is far too sweet and the "Max" versions are the same but with more chemicals

As someone prone to headache/migraine, I found that aspartame and sucralose could spark then off. The only one I can tolerate in small doses seems to be stevia.

It isn't possible to "avoid chemicals".

EVERYTHING you eat is composed of chemicals.

As is everything you wear, everything you wash with, etc.

And the fact they are "natural" chemicals doesn't necessarily make them any better for you than artificial ones.

But there are a lot of supposedly safe man made additives that later on are found to not be so safe

you are mostly better of with natural ingredients but it is quite difficult to avoid the man made ones

and - no - natural does not mean safe - and when they are used as an additive then sometime the company "disguise" how much they use and you have to check the label carefully to work it out
salt would be a good example of that - as would sugar

It would be nice to have a choice for sugar free or reduced sugar and the original recipe that was sold before the change.
I was listening to a program about the history of smoking last night. In the section about the techniques marketing psychologists use to manipulate society they were comparing smoking, cars and food: the way that they promote fags & food is by portraying them as freedom to choose when addiction is actually undermining people's ability to choose..

Don't start me on Wrights Coal Tar soap. It is now a completely different product with an unpleasant odour. But they kept the same colour of bar, and almost identical packaging, although it now says "Traditional Soap" rather than "Coal Tar Soap". Another product on the growing list of things never to be bought again.

As opposed to the original product with an unpleasant odour?
