My Aldi SPD shoes do look a bit cheap but I have done well over 5,000 miles in them and they are still going strong.

I have a pair of Shimano shoes waiting to replace them when they do eventually fall to bits ...

On the conversation of shoes...I've just got back from cycling and noticed that part of the plastic cleat has come away it still clips in ok and feels secure am I best replacing the cleat?? The shoes are specialized sport!

Hi wrilkie For what its worth just buy new ones £8 online .. how long have you had them !
I have look cleats on sidis they normally take 12 months wear then I replace !

Hiya, I've had them for about 3 months done about 400 miles. £8 thats good I may aswell buy new ones then :-)

Um 3 months they should last longer than that ... do you walk in them a lot when off the bike ?

Replace - worn/broken cleats are sometimes very difficult to unclip! I fell over at a red light once when my foot got stuck, due to trying to eke out a few more rides from worn cleats.

Yep, I've got those and the road equivalent plus a cheapish Decathlon touring shoe. The dhb ones have been pretty good but as you say, you have to time your purchase as it's a real bargain when they do reduce their prices

Can't believe how cheap skates there are on here, buying from Lidl and Aldi! Having said that I bought some s/h Shimano shoes in the market here for a fiver!
