Indeed Vickster, I'm conscious of thread hijack so I won't labour points, but it's an interesting discussion point. My belief is that the whole "comfort" thing with steel is a myth as old as the hills. You get way more comfort from your saddle, the frame geometry, the tyres, the fork, your mitts even, in fact pretty much anything but the frame material, and where it does have an effect on comfort (in vibration damping), carbon, Ti, and aluminium all do it better. You rightly note that a carbon fork is a likely factor in your overall comfort on your steel bike.
Super comfortable, mines on 23mm tyres and is as comfortable as the carbon on rough roads, if not more so on the same rubber. It does have carbon forks
