They do another lush Ti brand, J.Guillem, but depends on your budget

They also sell Specialized if you really do see the Roubaix as a Ti alternative

Note, closed Sundays. A nice 20 mile ride from Staines

Is Paul Smith still at Corridori? If he is then there's not many people who know more about Ti then him.

I've got a Spesh Roubaix (SL3), really comfortable and little road noise. Liked it so much I had Justin Burls design and build a titanium fixed around the same geometry.

I think the Spesh just pips things in the road noise stakes, but the Ti does most of the miles and is extremely comfortable, and so much easier to keep clean.

It's great having 2 bikes with identical set up, Spesh is quicker, but I loved fixed so much more.

I test rode the Roubaix and it just felt a little 'dead' compared to Ti. For me Ti or good steel wins over carbon. Very difficult to quantify, but having ridden all three, I voted with my wallet and now have a Kinesis Gran Fondo (Ti) and a Kona Roadhouse (Reynolds 853).

Had a look over the Enigma bikes at the Surrey Cycle Show yesterday. Like the look of the Excel, the most expensive, but lightest one.All are nice really.

Sounds like time to talk to those apparently very nice chaps in Hailsham and have them part you from your hard earned :okay:

Steel every time over carbon.

For what reason out of interest? I'm now riding two aluminium bikes and one carbon, and I used to ride steel road bikes. I suppose it can depend on what you want a frame to do, but at the moment I'm struggling to think of very many reasons why steel could be better, other than looking nice in a classic / retro way. A factor which I do get by the way, and can readily appreciate. But what else is there?

Super comfortable, mines on 23mm tyres and is as comfortable as the carbon on rough roads, if not more so on the same rubber. It does have carbon forks

However, the OP did ask about Ti and carbon, not steel

Just discovered this thread
I pretty much came up with the same choice.

It still looks like Roubaix - the latest one has ditched the Zertz for a mini shock absorber, ot titatiom

Enigma is leading at the moment, will see some today ^_^
Could not get the Van Nich I wanted on their online customiser (i.e. could not get 11-32 w have) Sure it could be built, don't know a good dealer in this part of the world who would build up a frame. On the other hand I know I can get what I want from Enigma. Have had reccomendations for Enigma and VN from club mates.

Club rides and Sportives are my longer rides and in the week I do training rides intervals and the like.
I do want a better bike than the Al frame Z95 I have presently. Have a healthy budget, and I do want to bemore comfortable and faster!!!
And climb hills better!

A set of folding tyres will make a good difference if you're running Felts own offerings.
