Road gearing on a hybrid???

I always assumed sram and Shimano were fully compatible, also bear in mind I was going to change the rear mech anyway from my old Viking which was converted to 10 speed, I honestly didn't realise things changed when they brought the 105 out, cheers for that it saved me from a lot of head scratching trying to work out why I wouldn't shift right.

You are welcome. Apart from some low end 5/6/7 speed stuff, I don't think there is any compatibility between sram and Shimano rear shifter and rear mech. Rear cable pull ratio for Shimano changed not when they brought the 105 out, but the 10 speed mtb equipment.
