hey all, this is my first post here!

despite being a proficient cyclist of forty years, i'm not experienced with bike maintenance and repair beyond changing tyres and repairing punctures. this is a terribly sad state of affairs, i know, but i would like to change that and start doing more myself.

i have a 2019 trek fx sport 4

i need new pedals, and also want to go to 1x10 so would like to remove the FD and replace with a shimano cues u6000 crankset

can you tell me if this is possible, in terms of compatibility, or would i need new chain, or other parts?

i understand cues requires linkglide compatibility but i'm not sure this applies if just switching the crankset

thanks!

:welcome:Chainset current: https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/shimano/FC-R460.html
External BB (24mm) BB-RS501
Shimano Cues-u6000: https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/cues-u6000-11-speed/FC-U6000-1.html
Required BB: BB-MT501 (but suspect for 73mm shell)
So with spacers, maybe, and that can improve the chainline if not make it optimal.
"The "LINKGLIDE" chain is just a standard HG-X11 chain like CN-HG901-11, CN-HG701-11, or the specifically branded CN-LG500.
So the chain and cassette you have will be fine. Chain catcher?
I won't ask why you think this is a good idea.
Changing the pedals is irrelevant.
