Yeah, I know nothing about it all, it isn't a sport I've ever followed, but it might be helpful if they consider something in the future if possible, even something small but effective at places like that with a kerb (or anything else like a wall, etc) at an opposing angle.
Terrible accident. One of those things with racing and street furniture. Come off on a track and they tend to slide a long way. He had come off some meters before the video at very high speed.
On an open road circuit the cost of putting barriers in front of every danger point would be impossible to meet. In a branch of the sport entailing racing on public roads I'm afraid it's a case of, "You know the risks, your call", however harsh that may seem after a fatality.

It's not harsh, these road race riders are throwback, balls of steel, daredevils, the risk of death hasn't been mostly removed from their sport. It's thrilling, heart in mouth. racing because the threat of death, or serious injury, is ever present. I don't think Mr Andrews would have wanted to peg out in a care home.
