Many thanks to everyone for your kind messages. They are a comfort to us.
He passed peacefully in his bed on 22nd December.
I will try to continue his cycling legacy.

Condolences Neil. Thanks again for letting us know about your father.
He certainly seems to have lived a full life. I, for one, will miss his tales of Island life, Calmac ferries & touroids!

R.I.P friend, I'm glad you were able to ride your trike till the end.
I did not meet you in person, but I would have liked to.
May you forever ride that killer hill out of Tobemory on your upright, just like in your youth.
Condolences to Old Wheel's family, thank you Neil for letting us know.

When I suffered a split tyre on my Brompton when touring somewhere near Ayr in 2022, and mentioned it on here, and my attempts to find a replacement in the bike shops around Ayr, he offered to check if he had any spare and to bring it to me.

I settled for ordering one online, to be delivered to my hotel as I would have felt bad expecting him to drive so far just to give me a tyre. The offer was very much appreciated all the same.
