My favourite role of his was Corporal King in King Rat. He was in loads of others of course but he was apparently the first Jewish actor to make it in Hollywood without changing his name.

And as a youngster I once had to do the walk of shame up the street after the two old dears that ran the local cinema wouldn't let me in to see A Touch of Class as they reckoned I was too young for the certificate on that bucket of filth with Glenda Jackson.

They let me in after an appeal - pretty sure they never ran Cycle Sluts - The Owl and the Pussycat.
