Very interesting character. Kicked out of school aged 13 unable to read or write due to dislexia, learned to do both as an adult. Got in with a bad lot before turning his life around, becoming a bit of a national treasure and rejecting an OBE as he disliked the 'Empire' bit, hardly surprising.
