Ricardo of this parish has kindly offered to build me some wheels and after many many weeks of me asking him stupid questions I think I have finally decided on the wheels I would like .
Having said that I don't have a clue about wheels so I am hoping a few of you that ride in London and know the roads ( state of the roads ) and those that know about wheels could give your opinions .
So far I am thinking of ...
Planet x 50mm carbon rims with planet x pro hubs . 16 CX ray spokes front and 24 rear .
The rims are for tubeless tyres and this is where I really struggle as until I joined this forum id never even heard of them
Any tips or wise words from those in the know ?

What are they for? Are you racing?

Tubeless - do you mean tubulars? Or clinchers run without inner tubes?

I must add some information to that ^_^

You weight only 62kg ( I hate you for that  ) you insist on sexy light wheels hence CF 50mm deep rims and CX-RAY spokes.

I have also made you aware that alloy rims might last longer on bad roads.

All things considered, for under £400 for a sub 1400g, these would be pretty good wheels but I'm not sure how well they'd last on bad roads.

Cheers

The wheels will last fine, but the tyres will get cut up and are a pain to keep replacing.

I am the world's biggest fan of tubs, and ride them for pleasure not just to race, but even I would baulk at running them in London @ £50 a pop.

Also you could get better prices on the rims and hubs if you cut out the PX middleman.

If you go fully carbon you'll be in danger of blowing away. Where as I'm nice and heavy and the only danger I pose to other rides is blowing off.

Rims.

Hubs.

If you want to buy bulk, you can get better prices still.

Not sure they are the same rims but even if they were the savings, IMHO, are not enough. The postage + taxes would put the price close to what Planet X ask for. Then is the question of damage, etc.
Personally I wouldn't risk it but I'm not buying so Cuchilo might think differently.

The hubs, Novatec was first choice but they don't do in 16H.

I agree with you that buying in bulk might be better savings but I don't buy anything unless is for my personal use.

Thanks all the same.

PX use Novatec hubs so there must be 16H hubs.

The rims are £160 posted, for the pair, how much are you getting PX rims for?

I have bought from carbonzone before, received within 10 days, beautifully packed.

Edited to say that personally, I wouldn't get either rims, but go with Gigantex instead.

The rims would be £200 for the set.

The Novatec hub we were looking at was the A171 and that doesn't come in 16H neither the A29something

These are the Planet X Pro

These are Gigantex - read this
