I went out on mine today to price a job . I was wearing jeans , trainers and a windproof jacket that was undone to let the wind in . I smoked a roadie on Richmond hill and got a PR at the same time . I did sweat buckets when I got to the job though !
If I want to nip out on any of my bikes I will do it dressed as I want . If I know im going to be riding hard then I will dress up like a nobber and feel good for my ride .

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
No one cares what your wearing. Wear what you want, not what you think others may think you should wear. Why did you feel stupid? Lots of people cycle wearing similar gear.

I like riding in my work clothes the best because people think ohh a tradesman going to & from work. This is instead of look at that wiggo wannabe knobbed holding up the traffic.
Same here . My jeans are covered in paint and the like . It cracks me up to let the roadie go first at the lights and then smoke them when it gets a bit tough . I even hang back far enough so its clear im not drafting them .
But when I am in my roadie gear I think people like me are twats

heh, for a couple of miles it really doesn't matter

If I'm just out casually, I'm not gonna get lycra-d up to do 5mph with my 5yr old Nephew  If I'm out for a proper ride, lycra is much much better to ride in.
