That's a good point. It's around 4 or 5 miles from the station up to Roundhay Park. If anyone is coming by train and can't get into Leeds and up to the meeting place by 10 let me know.

Also it's a bit of a climb up out of Leeds on not very friendly roads so if anyone would like a lift from the station speak up. There are two passenger seats in the van so thats the limit.

Think I'll be ok for this, I'm of goodish fitness and should manage the distance ok at around 10-15mph

I've cycled in that area a little before - the 'West Yorkshire Cycle Route' runs near it which I've partially followed before but havent been as far as wetherby before.

We'll be covering some of the WYCR as we go from Leeds out to Wetherby and also round Wetherby on to Boston Spa and Thorner.

I've been on it from roughly where it crosses the A660 at Bramhope to probably where we are using it where it turns north to Wetherby - I normally head south through Garthforth and eventually back along the Aire and Calder into leeds. At some point I keep promising myself to organise a tour of the route, not happened yet lol

Also worth noting, there's a Leeds Cycling Action Group 'easy ride' starting out from the same point at 10.30 am (meeting from 10.15). That's a 15 mile 'easy' one. i.e. don't get the two groups mixed up!

Or, I guess if you don't like the look of us, you could stay on for the next group
