Bring On The Clowns
The four clowns in this puzzle all competed for the much-prized 'Clown of the Year' award recently. There were 30 clowns in total who entered the competition and each had to make the judges laugh.

1. The Budsworth clown finished one place lower than Strumpy who is not from Witfield.

2. The judges roared with laughter as one clown cycled across a tightrope, wobbled, screamed and fell head first into a pool of water. He finished two places below Boo Boo who was not from Witfield.

3. The clown who finished in 7th place lost points when her big red nose fell off during her manic routine. This involved being hit with a giant rubber mallet by her assistant who was supposed to hit her on the shoulder but unfortunately had something in his eye at the time and accidentally bashed her in the face instead.

4. Tambo was disappointed when his usually masterful custard pie antics failed to impress the judges sufficiently to secure the award. He was not the clown from Stockville whose final placing was lower than the Shrimpton clown.

Clowns: Boo Boo, Grego, Strumpy, Tambo
Towns: Budsworth, Shrimpton, Stockville, Witfield
Position: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th
Routine: Custard Pie, Flower, Rubber Mallet, Unicycle

From the clues above, can you work out each clown's name, the town he or she came from, what place each clown was awarded and the most comical moment of each clown's routine?

Boo Boo, Flower, 2nd, Shrimpton
Grego, Rubber Mallet, 7th, Witfield
Strumpy, Unicycle, 4th, Stockville
Tambo, Custard Pie, 5th, Budsworth

Care to explain?
S is the 19th letter in the alphabet. (that was the easiest).
September has 9 letters (that one took the longest to figure out!)
September is the 9th month.

Missed that one, I'll have a think tonight. I'm normally pretty good with binary, but that looks hard at first glance!

Glad these are back by the way, good fun! I vaguely remember you saying you'd had a head injury? Hope everything's healed up and you're on the mend.

Getting there on the head part. Cracked the skull where the spine connects to it.

Cross That Bridge When We Get To It
A guard is stationed at one of a bridge. His job, to shoot anyone who tries to cross to the other side of the bridge, and to turn away anyone who comes from the opposite side of the bridge. You are on his side of the bridge and want to escape to the other side.
Because the bridge is old and rickety, anyone who tries to cross it does so at a constant speed, and it always takes exactly 10 minutes to cross.
The guard comes out of his post every 6 minutes and looks down the bridge for any people trying to leave, and at all other times he sits in his post and snoozes. You know you can sneak past him when he's sleeping, but the problem is that you won't be able to make it all the way to the other side of the bridge before he sees you.

How do you cross it?

Walk past for 5 mins then turn back for a minute. He'll chase you off to the side you want.etc....

What's In A Name?
"Hurry, let me in," said the Jester.
"No, me first!" said the Joker.
"Perhaps we should be careful about walking there," said Gabriel.
"A wiser course may be to avoid stepping on the area," said Uziel.

Title is the question.
