mm - thanks for the reply but not really a sci-fi bod - and have issues with Clarkson, clever as he undoubtedly is.

You may find that Clarkson’s Farm may change your opinion of him somewhat.

Probably the best series I’ve ever seen on Amazon Prime and I suspect it’s done more for Farmers and Farming in eight episodes than all ten billion episodes of Countryfile put together.

Films on AP I particularly enjoyed (and all bizarrely have the word ‘Man’ in their title) are…

The Man From Earth - lots of dialog, filmed in one location, quite thought provoking.
Man on Fire - Atmospheric action movie with the excellent Denzel Washington.
The Man Who Sued God - you’ll have to watch this with ads, but it’s worth it. Australian film with Billy Connolly at his best. Judy Davis is also excellent in it.

We do have some of his Bee Juice in our cupboard.

More wheels than sense
never watched it the first time on terrestrial - may skip.
In truth I really signed up to watch the wondrous
Foxes Afloat.
(Portillo - eat your pants)
as they plugged it on their youtube channel
but from looking at the title cards on amazon prime it looks like they might just have repackaged their free (and excellent) youtube stuff.

I watch Foxes Afloat on youtube , a lovely couple that are loads of fun .

Highlights from my recent Amazon Watch History, in no particular order:

Parasite
Snowpiercer
Saint Maud
Midsommar
Knives Out
The Children Act
Pride
What we do in the Shadows
Get Out
I, Daniel Blake
Spotlight
The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years
Death of Stalin
South Park - multiple seasons
Red
Red 2

...any of which I'd happily re-watch. This has also made me realise I don't watch any documentaries on Amazon - I tend to rely on the iPlayer and All4 for those, just out of force of habit.
thanks - that beatles doc is also on freeview Sky Arts on Christmas Day - seem to recall last miserable christmas day that was the only channel I watched - a nice Laurel and Hardy doc.
Some of us vaguely older types will remember when for years the good old beeb showed A Hard Days Night on Christmas Day - then it gradually retreated in the Christmas schedules - one worth bringing back I think.

I have to agree. Some of the real Clarkson does start to come through in this series, at least after the first episode, and while there are many clearly manufactured events, the realities of farming underlying them are writ large. I loved him getting to grips with corn carting because that's exactly how it went for me many years ago.

am still working through them - I gather Silver Fox, the boat they documented the building of bit by bit, has been sold and that they are now building a new boat and doccing that - for Prime I think they said - but I couldn't find anything about that on Prime from a casual look.

* I think it was someone on here or another cycling place that put me onto Foxes.

I think you need to imagine what @Blue Hills would like based on his posts on CycleChat (and in my case, having met him too)... I am pretty sure that he would NOT enjoy the things that I have been watching on Prime so I won't bother listing them!

The Pendle Witch Child might be of interest?
oh go on Colin try me/horrify me with your own watching.
I did see the Pendle Witch Child there - an old terrestrial prog rerun - seem to recall that I was a bit disappointed by it when I saw it - but nowhere near as much as by THAT Dr Who episode - missed all the atmosphere and I have a vague memory that they shot it down south or in wales or somewhere. The great Pendle Witch drama is still to be made I think - in the real damn locations - including Salter Fell.

Well that could be, er, interesting/possibly libellous.

You'll be telling me next that you've never had a Ford Capri either. 😂
No - though a mate of mine had a real beast version of a Capri which I rather admired for its sheer perversity - and I did have a fuel-injected Audi which I wrote off by crashing it into a police car.

Hello cycling

I think when the Professionals was on originally I was being a bit superior - though I did later come to appreciate the Sweeney. Will maybe check out - ta - though I often find that old dramas seem somewhat clunky/slow/talky when seen now.
