Yes, seen Bladerunner and Pulp Fiction and they also fall into the right category. Watched Bladerunner again the other day on Sky. Such a great film, such a great soundtrack.

Other greats include Heat, Green Mile, Sixth Sense, and of course Shawshank Redemption.

I have recorded American History X but I need something my missus will also watch and she's not keen on the theme of that film.

American history X still gives SWMBO nightmares.

The Godfather I and II. Pachino's performance is chilling. Seen it more than twenty times but it still does the business.

It's not that great, not in the same class as some of the others mentioned anyway. You've seen Bladerunner and Pulp Fiction I assume?

Couldn't actually believe it when the link to the top movies revealed TDK at number 4
It wasn't bad but certainly nowhere near that standard!

Some great films here, Pans Labyrinth would be my choice.

I'll chip in with "Talk to Her" ("Habla con Ella") classic Almodovar

If moral ambivalence and audience manipulation is your thing, "Man Bites Dog" may be up your street. I believe It almost didn't get a certificate but the bbfc decided it could go through on artistic merit.

Like 'American History X', it has a scene that you're unlikely to forget.

Yeah, Cube is another 'different' film - they went a bit crazy with the sequels (and a prequel) which never recaptured the art of the original... but the plot is an interesting one.
